Whistler Blackcomb have released their season pass prices for the upcoming season.
In response to expected low visitor numbers, WB have made aggressive cuts to their passes, especially the early-bird full season. How does a cost of CAD$1099 sound! That is a savings of $430 compared to last seasons early bird price (and also this years FULL price season pass if bought after October 12).
Passes go on sale August 27th, with the first 2000 Adult / Senior sold also receiving 2 FREE tickets to an Olympic Medal Ceremony. Along with letting you ski everyday, a season pass offers other perks such as discounts on food and retail – for more details check out the WB website.
To quote their advertising campaign – The “Why on Earth Would You Buy a Season Pass? Because We’re Making You an Offer You Can’t Refuse” Campaign Offers Lowest Pricing in a Decade.
I am unaware of any changes to the prices of single day or multi-day tickets.
Still think it’s too much money ? How about a $5 season pass – is that more your price ? Check out this website
For a minimum $5 donation to helping Canadian Athletes, you could win a seasons pass !! – it’s not just Whistler Blackcomb, so check out if your local resort is included. I have also read the fine print on the WB website, and they state they will offer a full refund to any who pays for a seasons pass and then wins the prize. It appears like a FULL refund, and not pro-ratad on days already used (which is fair).
So go make a donation and win.
Edit: WB have also released a web page with lots of information regarding the Olympics, and how it will affect the local community. It covers things like transportation and parking, what will and wont be available to use / access on the mountains, accommodation details and so on. It is only a ‘Phase 1′ release, so there are still plenty of un-answered questions, but it’s a start.

Wow. I think it would be in my best interests to purchase one for my next holiday. Hmmmm..
Hey Simon, you might want to look into the 15 day pass as well. If you buy before October 12 it is $819, that works out around $55 per day.
Don’t forget all prices are + GST (5% currently).
“Lowest Pricing in a Decade” is a very direct way to attract travelers. I think people are not only looking for a lowest price, but a price with the best value which they can’t resist.

Both the full season pass and 15 day passes get an extra 10% off if you buy a kids pass at the same time. In prior years we’d bought the 15 day pass along with a kids 15 day lesson pass, and got 10% off both. Same early bird offer running this year.
