We were some of the first to hit 7th Heaven, and after one run, Showcase was getting ready to open. So, what I'm getting at is that we were lucky enough to be some of the first people into Blackcomb Glacier today and it was VERY nice. We did three laps through the Glacier and then rode all the way down to the vilage, had lunch and some pints at Duhb Linn Gate, saw the host from The Bachelor, and then hit Whistler in the afternoon -- Symphony, Harmony, The Saddle, all the way back to the village. Visability and weather were perfect all day. This was one of the best days in my short snowboarding "career".
Cheers,
John

Today, we were on the first gondola up to Blackcomb, and one of the first chairs up Jersey Cream. I was talking about the 12th, Sunday, not 13th... I didn't ski today, 13th, but hear it was awesome. ;-)
Heading up tomorrow, Tues, to see if any of the powder poachers have left any scraps behind...

John,

I was talking about the 12th, Sunday, not 13th… I didn’t ski today, 13th, but hear it was awesome. http://whistlersnowreport.com/?p=804#comment-755

Spent the entire day on Whistler and had an absolutely fantastic time -- lots of good powder to enjoy. While not epic, the powder offered face shots just the same. There was a bit of a line for the Fresh Tracks breakfast around 7:15am.
Best runs were Peak to Creek and Bagel Bowl for me (early in the day). Symphony was sublime around 1pm.
When Peak chair opened around 9:40, the masses headed for Whistler Bowl like sheep. I followed suit. After that herd experience, I hit Peak to Creek to Bagel Bowl and followed some skiers into some nice glades with LOTS of fresh. Few face shots here and there and no complaints from me on the Alpine, Colin.
For those who rode/skied Blackcomb today: was the Showcase T-Bar open? I hope not, because I would like to enjoy some powder on the Wind Lip tomorrow.
Thanks to Greg for having this site. I can appreciate your wanting to mountain bike by now, but for those of us not from here, this April riding is pretty sweet, dude, nize.

Spent the entire day on Whistler and had an absolutely fantastic time — lots of good powder to enjoy. Spent most of the day on the K2 GS course with Australian kids who are visiting for the Whistler Cup, but escaped to free ski quite a bit. Having been in Whistler since '92 I know that some days the alpine is definitelyworth missing!
Looking good for Tuesday though! ;-)

Great skiing mid to lower mountain, a few inches of new on top of a softish refrozen base.

Spent most of the day on the K2 GS course with Australian kids who are visiting for the Whistler Cup, but escaped to free ski quite a bit. Helen Keller conditions out there (ie. white out) today and really windy up top of Harmony Chair. Conditions were variable, some runs were great and some were terrible. I saw all lifts open at one point except for the T bars and the peak chair.

I think the snow was good up on the Saddle, but I could not see it, only kind of feel it.
