The WB snow report figures are collected from Pig Alley on Whistler. So if it doesn't snow there, then 0 cm is recorded. They also have a plot near the Catskinner chair upload station on Blackcomb, but those numbers are kept internal. Obviously ski patrol are measuring depths all over the place, but once again - internal numbers.
Hey Charlie, great to hear you had a good time, it was the best week of the season I reckon. Next year be sure to check out my accommodation webpage ;)
Scott, yes wind does move snow :) Not often does it result in an even layer of snow though, usually it ends up in drifts.

It is very possible to have ‘localized’ snowing, especially here in Whistler when there is so much terrain.<br

Our group is sitting in the Vancouver airport right now after an amazing (and exhausting) week at Whistler. Snow was awesome, the mountain(s) are absolutely incredible. Thanks again for your updates, a great resource. Can't wait to come back next year.

Maybe they only check at mid stations and rendezvous and base, but maybe it could snow over in the crystal area and not other places? I'm just thinking out loud really. Maybe, maybe not.

How much new snow was there?
