I finally made it back up the hill after a couple of days off and was pleasantly surprised with the snow quality. In general it is still very good, with only some of the steeper groomed pitches being a little ‘polished’. Off-piste is great, nothing much to complain about there, except the shallow snow base.

It was fairly windy today while riding the chairs, but once you unloaded it was fine as most runs were protected from the wind. The visibility was great when you could see :) There was flat light at times, and fog layers all over the mountains. This changed from run to run it seemed, so you never knew whether it would be a good run or not (visibility wise) until you had done it. A typical Whistler day (finally).

It was flurrying very lightly off and on during the day. Not enough to be ‘accumulating’ but it all helps to maintain the snow quality. The forecast looks good – again not much new snow, but the weather should help to keep these good conditions.

I am looking forward to getting up early tomorrow and hope we get around 5cms tonight…..
