Lloyd, overall I would recommend people still visit in January / February, because normally those months are the coldest, with the best quality snow, and also generally quiet lift lines. This year has gone against the norm in so many ways. That being said, you never know how the weather is going to go – and maybe next November could be the ‘big’ month, or maybe March or even April.

Joe, I used my ‘Prior Originals’ – my powder skis at 95mm (maybe 96) underfoot. We had a lot of snow, and I would’ve liked to have a ski even fatter

Always enjoy reading your blog, but now I am soooo jealous….like others have said, the conditions in late December when we were there were not the best, but March break seems to have made up for it.

Will have to looking into doing the the Extremely Canadian clinic the next time we are out there.

Greg, just curious, were you on your Rossi Z9′s for the clinic, or your powder skis?

Visting during the Olympics will certainly have its difficulties and expense – but with all the events taking place on a small section of Whistler Mountain the rest of that mountain and all of Blackcomb are likely to be very quiet. If that is linked with good snow you could have an excellent Whistler holiday.

Really happy to read your report–and don’t worry about the detail: the more the better! I’m glad that you’ve finally gotten to enjoy the season. It’s been a long time coming.

Looks like next year’s not going to happen for the wife and me (schedules + Olympics don’t seem to work out for us), so we’ll probably end up keeping it stateside for 2010. Nevertheless, I’ll keep reading the blog to find out what’s happening in my favorite snowtown.

Is the weather always like this in March,we canceled our January trip and went out West instead, because of it being in the high 40s and all the negative talk that was going on at the time,is Febuary and March better than January,what about next year,should we wait till Feb,or March, was this just a screwed up year.Its colder out there now, than it was in January.

I don’t think you ever have to worry about “too much detail”. It’s a great stoke for those of us who (unfortunately) have had to call it quits this season already.
