We tried the alpine, but the light was flat and the overnight snow hadn’t done enough to improve the conditions to make it worthwhile. So we ended up cruising around the mid-mountain – snow was okay, but still lots of hard packed/ icy patches.

Whistler Blackcomb 100% Open
Tuesday, December 29th, 2009Today I managed a few runs around lunchtime, and was surprised to see a line at the bottom of the Creekside Gondola, and then another one at the bottom of Big Red. Still, it wasn’t a long wait, and the lines were smaller from then on. Maybe I caught a bit of a lunchtime rush?
Lots of Sunshine
Sunday, December 27th, 2009So, the inversion has gone, and now the snow up top has frozen firm, and makes for some ugly off-piste – quite bumpy and hard. Still, a beautiful day to be in the mountains, calm and not very cold.
Xmas Eve Skiing
Thursday, December 24th, 2009It’s hard to believe it’s Christmas – the mountains are normally VERY busy this time of year. Today though, was quiet and we rarely had to wait in a lift line.
